I don’t know if any of our bishops have ever prayed that prayer, but I’ve come pretty close.
Apologies to my non-United Methodist readers, but Annual Conference is almost upon us in South Carolina. It’s the time of year when pastors and church folks from across the state gather together for a 4-day series of meetings, worship services, and sometimes important decision-making. And in the midst of all of that, there’s always at least one person who ends up behind a microphone ranting or rambling longer than he or she should. Sadly, not even the bishop can prevent that from happening, but he or she can certainly make it stop.
Thank you, God for time-limits and for the bishops who enforce them. And thank you, readers, for taking the time to look at my work.
