I've done ministry with children, youth, and college students, but some of the most immature church people I've ever met were old enough to be my parents or grandparents.
Unfortunately, I encountered the sort of behavior portrayed in my comic above in every church I ever pastored, and every time it happened I could hardly believe what I was hearing. It blew my mind to realize that someone could be so selfish and childish as to essentially attempt to hold the church hostage until the church or the pastor met their demands. And the worst part was that every single one of those incidents ended up being a lose lose situation for everyone involved, including the person or people who made the threat.
In short, don't do this to your church, your pastor, or to yourself. If the change you desire is so important to you that you're willing to cause harm to everyone involved, then perhaps the best thing for you to do is to keep your mouth shut and to spend some time listening to God. For if you're acting like that, there's a good chance that the change that needs to occur isn't within your church or your pastor, but rather within you.
